Questions people ask

Short answers, checked against the app.

Is there a free plan?

No. Pingr is paid only, and everything is included: $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year, with 7 days free on both plans. There are no tiers and no usage limits. If a subscription ends, your data is kept and you can still sign in, export it and delete your account.

How does the free trial work?

Both plans start with 7 free days. Google Play shows the date of the first charge before you confirm, and Pingr emails you a reminder before the trial ends. Cancel in Google Play before then and you are not charged.

Do I need a Google account?

Not to use Pingr. You can sign up with an email address and password, or continue with Google or GitHub. Buying the plan goes through Google Play, which uses the Google account on your Android phone. Syncing Google Calendar and Google Tasks is optional.

Do alerts work offline?

Yes. Pingr schedules every alert on your phone, so it fires with the app closed and no signal. Android needs three settings to deliver alerts on time (notifications, alarms and reminders, and unrestricted battery use), and Settings has a screen that walks through them and sends a test ping.

Which platforms does Pingr run on?

Android only. There is no iPhone app, and the signed-in web app has been retired, so you use Pingr on your phone. The website is for information, guides and legal pages.

How do I cancel?

Open Google Play, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and choose Pingr. Settings, then Subscription, has a Manage in Google Play shortcut. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel in Google Play first.

What happens to my data?

Your items sync to Pingr servers so they appear on every device you sign in on, and they stay on your phone so the app works offline. You can export everything as JSON, a spreadsheet, a PDF or a calendar file, import an .ics file, and delete your account from the app. Deleting removes the account and everything linked to it. Does Pingr use AI on my reminders?

Only when you use an AI feature: reading a sentence into a draft, the Ask chat, Plan my day or summaries. The text you submit and the context needed, such as titles and times of the items involved, goes to AI providers to produce the answer. Pingr does not use your content to train models and asks providers not to. Settings, then AI, switches the assistant off, and nothing is sent while it is off.

Does Pingr have quiet hours?

Yes. Turn on quiet hours in Settings, then Notifications, and pick a start and end (22:00 to 07:00 is the preset). Alerts that fall inside the window wait until it ends. A single reminder can be allowed to break through.

Does Pingr have home screen widgets?

Yes, two. The Agenda widget lists overdue, today and upcoming items, with a button to mark things done and one to add new ones. The Month widget shows a month with a dot on days that have something. Open More, then Widgets, for the steps to add them.
